The Art of Brian Rodman
Novels, Comic Books, & More!

Memoirs of an Angel: The Grey Pilgrim
is the new all-encompassing pulp genre adventure from author and illustrator, Brian Rodman!!
To save The Cosmic Wheel from the destruction of The Dark Kingdom, two angels must travel inside the mind of a possessed boy and face off against the diabolical force infesting him.
Crowdfunded on Kickstarter, Memoirs of an Angel makes its transition from comic book to being a 600+ page illustrated novel with well over 100 illustrations. And best of all, it is the first of a multiple book series called THE COSMIC WHEEL!
"It's like Lord of The Rings meets The Exorcist!"
"Memoirs of an Angel is like a hybrid comic book/prose novel experience. It's unique and captivating."
"The scholarly nature of (Rodman's) depiction of these forces and of their natures as organically revealed in the storyline is vast and impressive. The wonderment Rodman feels for unseen forces beyond our material realm is expressed...across every page."
Brian Rodman
is an award-nominated author and award-winning illustrator who lives in Louisville, Kentucky, with his wife/business partner, Robyn, and their three cats, Phoebe, Beesly, and Niko. He has been creating comics and writing stories professionally since 2015. He's had prose work and illustrations published in multiple Pulp Factory Award-Winning anthologies, "Pulp Reality No.4" and "Pulp Reality No.5" from Stormgate Press. Brian also won the Pulp Factory Award for Best Interior Illustrations for his work on Pulp Reality No.5. Brian's had short comics and poems published in anthologies such as Louisville Cartoonist Society's "Tall Tales & Little Lies", "Legends: Myths & Not So True Stories", and "Sagebrush & Tumbleweeds." Brian has written/illustrated/published Memoirs of an Angel, the comic book series, and The Nebulizer comic book series; both of which have totaled eight successful and fulfilled Kickstarter campaigns from 2018 to 2023. In 2024, he successfully crowdfunded his first full-length illustrated novel, "Memoirs of an Angel: The Grey Pilgrim" (which earned him the Pulp Factory nomination for Best Pulp Novel in The Pulp Factory Awards 2026), based on the comic book series of the same name, leading its publication in 2025 through B&R Publications.
In 2022, Brian's health declined steadily to the point where he became disabled due to his lifelong struggle with severe asthma. In that time, Brian realized he could no longer consistently create comic books the way he previously had. Realizing that Memoirs of an Angel was a much larger project than just a few graphic novels' worth of story, he decided to make the pivot to illustrated prose. With the overwhelming support of Robyn, friends, family, and amazing readers, he began the journey of creating the 600+ page illustrated novel. In 2024, through Kickstarter, backers achieved the most successful crowdfunding campaign of B&R Publication's history, bringing Memoirs of an Angel: The Grey Pilgrim (and its now larger universe, The Cosmic Wheel) to life.
Brian's next project is the second installment of The Cosmic Wheel universe, entitled "The Mysterious Adventures of Eula McDowell," which he is co-writing with his dear friends and award-winning authors, Brian K. Morris and Clyde Hall.
In the Old World history of The Cosmic Wheel, Eula McDowell is a veteran demonologist who has seen just about everything—or so she thinks. But lately, in her home city of Louisville, Kentucky, things have grown disturbingly strange, even by her standards.
In May 1991, beloved city detective Albert Burgess vanished without a trace. Weeks later, he reappears at a downtown gas station in the dead of night—naked, brandishing a knife, and raving about a “sacred box.” Moments later, the station erupts into flames, ignited by nothing but his chilling laughter.
When Eula takes the case, she has no idea it will drag her and her team into a deepening web of madness and malevolence. Each investigation grows darker than the last, every clue twisting toward a single, catastrophic revelation—one that threatens to consume them all.
Travel back to a time before Jonathan Young faced off against Etrulia and the Coven of Endor, before Akalian and Moriel entered the mind of a possessed child, before the Grand Republic rose to power over the people of Earth—and witness the beginning of the cursed and crooked path toward The Final War.
It's like Supernatural and Murder She Wrote meets H.P. Lovecraft.
You can follow Brian's work on The Mysterious Adventures of Eula McDowell on Patreon where he posts weekly entries of the rough draft of the novel. You can also head to Kickstarter and back the project, assuring your copy of the novel, plus any other rewards you choose!
